NOTD - OPI+Anna Sui (French)

Yeah! Today is my last day of work for year 2009! So fast, it's the end of the year! I am so excited today, because I am going to Singapore tomorrow! Hahaha... Can have my last retail therapy in Sg before the last day of 2009!

Opps.. kinda out of topic already, back to the main topic now! I had bought the Bazaar mag from Borders yesterday after read Miu's blog about the freebie. At first I thought it is a full size, who knows when I saw it at Borders, it's just a mini size nail polish! Aiya, nevermind la, after all it's still freebie and you only pay RM 7 to get the mag + OPI Nail Polish + voucher.

There are 3 colors to choose from, black, transparent & pink. So I had chose the pink color as I don't want to apply black color on my finger nail. Hehe..

Since I already into holiday mood, I skip my lunch break and stayed in office to apply nail polish! I saw this similar application from Joey's blog few weeks ago on applying the simple glittery party nail, thus I tried it today since I had all the material.

I was worried that I will over-do the glittery part, so instead of apply half of the nail, I did it the french way! I like it so much! Learn new tricks today! Thanks to Joey's nail art step by step guide!

Here's the material used:-
a) OPI Base Coat
b) OPI Nail Lacquer - Nagellack (not sure if this is the correct name of the color)
c) Anna Sui Nail Art Color N Vernis Dessin Des (Pink?)
d) OPI Top Coat
e) Essie Quick-e (Quick dry drop)

OPI base & Top coat
OPI Freebie from Bazaar Mag
Anna sui glittery nail polish
Essie Quick dry

I had just received this email moment ago from my friend and think it is useful thus would like to share with everyone of you. Not sure where is the original link came from, hope the original author would not mind of sharing it here!

In 1919. When the flu killed 40 million people, there was this doctor
that visited the many farmers to see if he could help them combat the flu. Many of the farmers and their family had contracted it, and many died.

The doctor came upon this one farmer, and to his surprise, everyone was very healthy.

When the doctor asked what the farmer was doing that was different, the wife replied that she had placed an unpeeled onion in a dish in the rooms of the home (probably only two rooms back then).

医生询问这家的做法与其他人家有何不同,这家的妻子说她在家里的每一个房间 (那时大概也就是两间吧!) 里放置了一颗没有剥皮的洋葱。

The doctor couldn't believe it, and asked if he could have one of the onions, and place it under the microscope.

She gave him one, and when he did this, he did find the flu virus in the onion.

It obviously absorbed the bacteria, therefore keeping the family healthy.

Now, I heard this story from my hairdresser in Arizona .

She said that several years ago, many of her employees were coming down with the flu, and so were many of her customers.

The next year, she placed several bowls with onions around in her shop. To her surprise, none of her staff got sick. It must work.

(And no, she is not in the onion business.)

The moral of the story is, buy some onions and place them in bowls around your home.

If you work at a desk, place one or two in your office, or under your desk, or even on top somewhere.

Try it and see what happens. We did it last year, and we never got the flu. If this helps you and your loved ones from getting sick, all the better.

If you do get the flu, it just might be a mild case.

Whateverwhat have you to lose? Just a few bucks on onions!

不管结果如何,你又会有什么损失呢? 除了几颗洋葱而已!

Now there is a P. S. to this for I sent it to a friend in Oregon who regularly contributes material to me on health issues..

She replied with this most interesting experience about onions: I don't know about the farmer’s story, but I do know that I contracted pneumonia, and needless to say I was very ill.

她回复说了关于洋葱的最有趣的实验: 我不知道那个农名的故事, 但是我知道我得了肺炎。不用说,我病得不轻。

I came across an article that said to cut both ends off an onion, put one end on a fork, and then place the forked end into an empty jar, placing the jar next to the sick patient at night.

It said the onion would be black in the morning from the germs.

Sure enough, it happened just like that. The onion was a mess, and I began to feel better.

Another thing I read in the article was that onions and garlic placed around the room sa! ved many from the black plague years ago.

God bless you

Dim Sum @ Imperial Garden

Yummy time! I guess most of us love to eat dim sum! Haha... I am kinda big fan for dim sum and all usually go on weekend if possible!

Recently my mom had strongly recommended dim sum @ Imperial Garden, Intan Square at PJ. Intan Square is actually next to Armada hotel. The location is very convenience. There are plenty of car parks available inside the building & at the open space area as well.

The restaurant is located at the top floor of Intan Square and you can see the Hilton view from the entrance. I love the nice ambient of the restaurant! At first I thought it will be quite pricey to have dim sum there, however, they are having promotion now where if you dine on Monday ~ Saturday, the promo is 50% discount on dim sum menu! Sorry gals, wing just called me today and told me the promo of 50% already ended.

酸辣汤 (Hot & Sour Spicy Soup?) haha...
Egg Tarts! Love it so much!
Herbs Soup
I don't really like it, not sure what vege is that, but the taste is a bit weird!

This is pork rib + jap mushroom!
Taste very good, loving it!
Soup having promo of buy 1 free 1
Toufu soup! Daily special!
Raddish cake!

Star of the meal~ Yam bun!
Seriously, this Yam bun really really YUMMY!!! I love this so much!
We even tar pao to bring home!
Har gao!
Fried Raddish cake!
Siu mai
Salad prawn
Yong tao fu
Taste good too!
Glutinous rice (Lo mai kai?!)
My favorite dim sum of all time!
Peking Duck
Peking duck wrap with egg crepe
Peking duck fried noodles
Mango Pudding
Guai Ling gou

Overall dining experience: 5****
Price: Reasonable
Environment: Nice

Piece of advice: If you plan to go on Saturday to enjoy the promo, please make sure you go earlier! Due to the overwhelm response to the promo, it's actually very long Q waiting! Especially when there is wedding dinner in the noon session, the restaurant is only having limited space to serve dim sum customers!

Steady Mag - Jan 2010

Another Japanese fashion mag with fabulous freebie! As it's year end and beginning of the new year, there are a lot of Japanese magazines giving out calender as free gift! January issue of Steady Mag is giving out this cute calander & multi case.

The Multi-case really look like the JS oil blotting paper pouch which I bought in Japan! Anyway, the multi-case freebie also includes a box of oil blotting papers.

Spring Feb 2010

Had just collected this magazine from Kino this afternoon after received the SMS informing the mag had arrived.

The freebie for this issue is Lola Marc Jacobs pouch. At first I thought it is a small coin pouch, however when I received it today, I opened it up immediately after reached office and found out it is quite big size! You will be able to put a small note book into it! Probably half of the size of this mag!

Go grab your copy of Spring Feb 2010 issue fast before it run out of stocks!!

Sweet Mag - Jan 2010

I had just collected my pre-ordered Sweet Mag from Kino KLCC yesterday morning! Love the Marc Jacobs bag so much!! I really love Jap fashion mag, as they are so generous in giving out freebies! No doubt it's a bit pricey, but I just love collecting those freebies!

Here it comes the mag! I love the small bag, handy for weekend outing which we do not want to carry big bags! But the zip quality a bit out for it! In fact, the compartment is quite spacious which I believe can hold up a lot of things! Will try to fill up my stuff tonight and snap another photo to see how much it can hold!
